The sea is the symbol for one’s immersion into life, the subconscious and the reservoir of treasures within one’s inner self. Fish and womb are synonymous in Greek; delphos means both. The original Delphic oracle first belonged to to fish goddess Themis, who often incarnated as a dolphin. Dolphins also remind us to laugh and play, allowing our feelings to flow. The anemone, star flower of the sea, grows from the source where the center of the shell represents the protection we build around ourselves to allow growth and change.
